conveyor_contention presents a robotic, continuously moving device that transports a soft, adaptive form through space, creating a tension between mechanical control and a quasi-living organism that is constantly reconfiguring itself. Through its association with ‘contention’ — the restraining or immobilisation of a body — the installation becomes a performative machinery in which both the object and the viewer are physically and cognitively drawn into a system of oscillation, constraint and engagement.
