BKRK Award: FIBRES

VAKlab, Bokrijk’s innovation platform, brings together craftsmanship, design and entrepreneurship to accelerate creative innovation. Through the annual BKRK Award, VAKlab challenges makers to translate traditional craftsmanship into contemporary and relevant concepts. The award supports talented designers through a mentoring programme aimed at fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. In 2026, the theme was ‘FIBRES’, with a focus on natural materials, traditional techniques and innovative applications. During WONDER, VAKlab will present the work of the three finalists of the BKRK ‘FIBRES’ Award: makers who are exploring the boundaries of materials, techniques and sustainability, and demonstrating how craftsmanship will remain relevant in the future.
