Stragglers

Maarten De Laet (°1996) explores the boundary between memory and imagination in his work.
His sculptures and objects appear as figures and fragments from a fictional world.

They often emerge intuitively: from vague shapes or spontaneous ideas that gradually connect with memories during the making process.
Maarten builds his sculptures using 3D printers, combining digital techniques with artisanal materials.
In doing so, he brings to life figures that seem to have remained behind from a larger story.
