The Curious Lives of Salvaged Stones brings together a selection of works created in recent years as part of my practice, *oskar de roover objects*.
Each object is based on salvaged natural stone: materials that were once part of a building and have been given a new purpose. By incorporating them into dismantlable structures, the stones remain free to be reused again in the future.
By displaying finished objects alongside a few rough stones from my collection, the focus shifts from the object itself to the wider narrative they share: that of materials which do not end with a single function or a single owner, but can lead many different lives.
The exhibition invites us to view materials not merely as raw materials, but as vessels of time, memories and future possibilities.
