Hendrik Heffinck presents a table or tables. However, this table or these tables are not suitable for ‘dining’. The table(s) is/are the result of the working process in the studio. Whilst working on sculptures, the furniture in the studio – which is usually used as workbenches – is also constantly being covered with new layers. These consist of all manner of textiles, wood, paint… In this way, his workbenches gradually become autonomous sculptures that form part of the overall installation that is his studio. 

Hendrik creates sculptural assemblages using carefully selected recycled materials. He employs various (often unorthodox) methods to glue, bind, nail or screw them together. The connecting materials have a significant and often ornamental impact on the overall appearance.
