Shared Ground

Shared Ground
Location

Groeningestraat 20

Organised by
Bram Lattré & ON/ART
Shared Ground is an interactive light installation in which visitors walk through an ever-changing landscape. Beneath their feet, a play of light, movement and traces unfolds. The more people take part, the more the landscape changes. In this way, Bram Lattré explores how we collectively occupy, share and shape space.

Bram Lattré is a light artist and creator of immersive installations using light, data and creative technology. His work lies at the intersection of light art, interactive media art, video mapping and spatial design. Using sensors, projection, real-time systems and light, he explores how digital images can become tangible within a space. His installations invite visitors not only to look, but also to become part of the work.

For Shared Ground, he translates landscape imagery into an interactive point cloud on the floor. Visitors walk through a digital landscape, leaving temporary traces behind. In this way, the work becomes a sensory exploration of shared space, movement and presence.

With the support of ON/ART
As part of ON/ART, the cross-border project run by Designregio Kortrijk and Le Fresnoy, artists are given the opportunity to develop new forms of digital media art at the intersection of art, technology and experimentation. The project encourages collaboration and the exchange of knowledge between creators from Flanders and northern France, thereby contributing to a growing community of media artists in the border region. Through its installations, ON/ART demonstrates how digital media art can innovatively translate contemporary themes such as participation, ecology, technology and collective imagination into immersive experiences for a wide audience.
