Module-S

A modular system that arose from the desire to work on a larger scale than the kiln allows. 
By breaking a single form down into separate elements, a limitation became the starting point for a new way of thinking and creating.

The installation consists of a series of ceramic modules that can be slotted together and reconfigured time and again. Just like building blocks, they invite experimentation, stacking and rearrangement. The work does not arise from a predetermined end result, but grows intuitively as it is constructed.

Within this playful approach, two apparent opposites come together: a sleek, well-thought-out system and the freedom of the moment. Module-S explores how structure need not be restrictive, but can instead create space for spontaneity, discovery and creative freedom.
