Book of Memories

Following their participation in WONDER in 2025 with the 3D cube sculptures depicting stages of life and the interactive audio installation featuring a volumetric screen, Sfæ Studio is returning. This time, they are presenting an immersive, AI-driven installation based on Anneleen Princen’s *Het Dodenboek* in the Heilig-Hartkapel on Budastraat in Kortrijk. 

At the centre is a physical book in which visitors leave memories of lost loved ones. An intelligent narrative system analyses the emotions and themes of these intimate fragments. Rather than a linear structure, the AI weaves the stories together associatively to form a collective narrative. An AI voice acts as a guide, drawing poetic connections between the testimonies, whilst keywords and slowly shifting, generated landscapes of memory are projected onto the walls.

The space offers a contemplative listening experience in which sound, image and text merge. In this way, Sfæ Studio explores how technology can allow universal grief to resonate in an innovative way.
