With “+”, architect and scenographer Tuur Demaegdt proposes a modular furniture concept that elevates simplicity and flexibility to its essence. The design starts from a well thought-out system in which two cross-shaped wooden elements slide into each other and support a stained top plate. The clever, fully removable connection allows assembly without screws or glue. From stool (+) over bench (++) to cabinet (+++): the modular principle remains identical, only the scale changes. Every part is reusable, combinable and rearrangeable - so the furniture effortlessly grows with its environment and user. What is a seat today can become a storage unit tomorrow. With this design, Tuur explores the boundary between function and composition, paying a subtle ode to changeable use.
