ALU Casted over Orbeez

ALU Casted over Orbeez is a sculptural series that explores the expressive possibilities of recycled aluminium. The aluminium is fully reclaimed, remelted, and processed through an artisanal and experimental casting process. During casting, molten aluminium is poured into a sand mould filled with Orbeez. These hydrogel beads act as temporary structural carriers, creating an unpredictable interplay of cavities, curves, and organic forms. The result is a unique, tactile surface that reveals the tension between control and chance, industrial material and organic language. Each object carries the traces of its making process and is therefore inherently unique. ALU Casted over Orbeez brings together circularity, material experimentation, and the aesthetics of the making process.
