The Last Guards

Visual artist Maarten De Laet (Avelgem) builds a poetic, fictional world rooted in memory, imagination and architecture. In his work, sculpture and painting merge into a layered visual language in which myth and reality become intertwined. For WONDER, he creates a new installation in which the historical site and his narrative practice reinforce each other. By combining innovative technologies with craft techniques, he questions how stories are created. His work invites wonder and escape from the everyday.
