The grid collection

Bas Pattyn (°1982) is a Belgian artist with a background in graphic design and furniture design. His work starts from a rigid grid and evolves into abstract, geometric sculptures that play with shape, folding, depth and light. Working with materials such as aluminium, MDF and natural stone, he combines technical precision with an apparent simplicity. His sculptures appear weightless and constantly change under the influence of light. His work builds on the tradition of minimalist and geometric art, driven by a need to create order in a complex world.
