Maria Degrève, Lieve D'hondt and Freya Maes are 3 visual artists who will realise a showcase exhibition with triptychs of photographs in the Doornik district in Kortrijk. Photo images by each artist will be displayed behind the windows of Vandererfven Delicatessen and Keukens Ranson.
For this project, we, 3 artists, each with our own artistic background and trajectory, will take on the challenge of working together. All three of us start from our everyday surroundings. For each location, we will work out a new montage with our visual material. The images will be taken near the shop premises/sites/Kortrijk where the images will be shown. Or the images will be selected so that there is a connection with the surroundings. This will create a dialogue with the neighbourhood. Neighbours may recognise their neighbourhood in the photos. We culturally activate a neighbourhood in Kortrijk with our visual intervention. Each window is artistically charged. In doing so, we give the building positive attention and also create an open relationship to culture-threatening art. With this intervention, we address both residents, walkers, cyclists and the targeted art lover. Even casual passers-by will be amazed by the intervention on the basis of the photo triptychs.
