Products shape our daily lives—few areas show their impact as clearly as healthcare. At Ghent University, Industrial Design Egnineering (IO) students explore how design can address real medical challenges through innovation and practical solutions. This year’s theme, MEDICAL WONDERS, highlights how design can transform healthcare. From smart rehabilitation tools to innovative hospital solutions, the exhibited projects tackle medical challenges with creativity, empathy, and technical skill. Each student worked on a real-world case from industry or care settings as part of their master’s thesis, student project or PhD. The results show how the next generation of designers doesn’t just dare to think—but dares to act, proving that design can be a powerful driver of well-being.
