Jolien Holvoet

The invisible line between autonomous art and everyday utilitarian objects has always fascinated Jolien Holvoet. Why shouldn't shapes that refer to functional objects also be considered autonomous works? Is it a matter of context? Or the viewer's perspective?
In her ceramic works, Jolien seeks to answer these questions for herself while also making the viewer aware of this duality. It's the beauty of seemingly everyday objects that invites reflection and wonder. By creating these refined and carefully finished objects, Jolien hopes to cultivate a sense of awareness. Not only so that the objects can be cherished more, but also to encourage moments of reflection. In her creative process, she is always in pursuit of what she believes to be the "perfect" form.

Bjorn Van Houtte

No Complaints

Bjorn Van Houtte (Fraziel atelier) is a graphic designer with a passion for design movements that have left a permanent mark on the creative landscape. He has a soft spot for the timeless charm of Bauhaus, the playful eccentricity of Memphis style, and the nostalgic appeal of vintage design. The mirrors are more than just reflective surfaces—they're storytellers from the past/future. His exploration began with stained glass, where the beautiful lead lines and colors made a connection. Starting with making glass windows for his own home, the concept of mirrors emerged as an experiment.

Moss Studio

PITH.01

Moss Studio is a collaborative endeavor founded by interior architect and wood turner Mario Vanwynsberghe (°1973 - Vincent Van Duysen Architects and Nòbrega-Borghmans) and his wife, herbalist Veerle Knockaert (°1974). However, Moss Studio goes beyond being a mere creative endeavor; it represents a profound connection to nature, drawing inspiration from both their backgrounds and the bond they share with their garden in Menen, Belgium.

In Moss Studio, as a wood turner, Vanwynsberghe finds comfort in repurposing wood from fallen trees. While entering into a physical, intuitive and grounding dialogue with the wood, he explores the interplay of opposing forces between the wood and his chisel and translates that into a contemporary formal language that invites people to withdraw in authenticity.

Knockaert delves into research, seeking to infuse each creation with natural, homemade stains and beeswaxes.

Through this collaborative process, Moss Studio celebrates the richness of nature and advocates for sustainable practices, biodiversity and the creation of harmonious living spaces.

Guided by nature’s silent dialogue, Moss Studio aims to capture its essence in their creations. Their sculptures are not loud, but light and tactile. They embrace the innate qualities of the woods they utilize, honoring the unrefined beauty of organic forms and flaws that emerge from the materials themselves. They are the result of a thoughtful yet organic process. Moss Studio makes unpretentious objects in refined simplicity, averse to time, trends and marketing. Not art, not design, not functional craft. Moss Studio does not let itself be easily defined.

Dries Truyers

Dries Truyers finds the combination and creative experimentation with both common and unusual materials one of the most fascinating aspects of furniture design. Additionally, each of his designs tells a story. Sustainability is of utmost importance to him, and he frequently uses residual flows and recycled materials.
